Part 1
Learning About Who You Are •One of the wonderful things about being a Christian is learning who you are to become in Christ. •To become like Christ. Romans 8:29; Luke 6:40 •You make the choice to be what God created you to be. Gal. 2:20 •You are special and have many blessings and responsibilities. Luke 9:23; Luke 17:10; Eph. 1:3
I Am A New Creation •You are to live in such a way that those, “Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17). •How? We must live in the world but not of the world (being like them), but we’re to be like Jesus (Jn. 17:14-17).
I Am A Child Of God •When we receive Him (John 1:12). •We receive Christ when we obey the gospel (Rom. 6:3-6; Gal. 3:26-27). •How do we prove this? 1 Jn. 3:10; 5:2; Rom. 8:16-17
I Am A Son Of God •God is my spiritual Father (Rom. 8:14- 15). •We are adopted back into God’s spiritual family through Jesus Christ (Gal. 4:4-7; Eph. 1:7)!
I Am Chosen Of God, Holy And Dearly Loved •As such we need to act in accordance to God’s expectations and requirements (Col. 3:12-15)! •Holy is an adjective describing the pure life we must live as God’s people.
I Am Enslaved To God •We choose of our own free will to willingly serve God as such (Rom. 6:22; Eph. 6:6). •At the same time we understand that we are a slave of righteousness (Rom. 6:18)! “There’s nothing better, at this point in time!”
I Am God’s Workmanship •I’m created in Christ Jesus to do His good work (Eph. 2:10). •Part of our work is spreading the gospel message (Mark 16:15-16).
I Am Christ’s Friend •We are this if we do whatever Christ has commanded (John 15:14-15). •As His friends, Jesus has told us what the Father has told Him, and we know what He is doing (Jn. 14:1-3).
I Am Begotten Again •To a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Pet. 1:3; 3:21). •You too can be born again (Jn. 3:3-5)! •Come to Jesus and be born again! •Hear & Believe the Gospel. 1 Cor. 15:3-4 •Repent of sin. Acts 2:38 •Confess your faith in Christ. Acts 8:37 •Be baptized for forgiveness of your sins. Acts 2:38; 22:16
Part 2
In Christ Exists The Realm Of A Completely New Life As new creatures in Christ we always need to explore and grow in these new ways (2 Peter 3:18). Let us seek to become all that God wants us to be in Christ (Rom. 12:1-2; Eph. 4:22-24).
I Am An Expression Of The Life Of Christ •He is my life (Colossians 3:4)! •We live in Christ by putting away the things of death, that is sin (Col. 3:5-6). •Even if we do anything like the works of the flesh we will spiritually perish (Gal. 5:19-21). We must live Christ-like!
I Am Reconciled To God •I am also a minister of reconciliation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:18-19). •Anyone can be reconciled to God (Eph. 2:16; 1 Cor. 12:13).
I Am An Ambassador Of Christ On Earth •Heaven is my home (2 Cor. 5:20; Phil. 3:20-21). •We need to represent as citizens of heaven while we’re here (Heb. 11:13-16).
I Am A Temple Of God •God’s spirit and life dwells in me (1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19-20). •As a temple of God we must live pure and godly lives so as not to defile the my temple which is God’s both in body and spirit!
I Am A Part Of The True Vine •As a branch in Christ I must channel Christ’s life to others bearing fruit through Him (Jn. 15:1-5; Phil. 4:13). •If we do not bear fruit the vine dresser will take us away. •We must abide in Christ by doing what He commands (Jn. 8:31-32).
I Am The Salt Of The Earth •As Christians we all need to be this to the world (Mt. 5:13). •If we are not salty we will be thrown out. We must present a special and different flavor that God approves (2 Cor. 3:2-3).
I Am The Light Of The World •We must let that light of Christ reflect and shine through our lives (Mt. 5:14,16). •You must be sure to be a son of light, not of darkness (1 Thes. 5:5, 8).
I Am Hidden With Christ In God •That is I have died to the sinful life and have a glorious new life (Col. 3:3; Rom. 6:2, 7,11). •The world will not fully see the glory of your new life that we have in Christ until Jesus comes back (Col. 3:4;1 Jn. 3:2).
Do You Want To Be With Jesus When He Comes Back? •If so, you must come to Jesus; learn of Him and obey the gospel! Mt. 11:28-30; 2 Thes.1:7-9 •How to obey it: Hebrews 5:9 •Hear & Believe it. Rom. 1:16-17; 10:17 •Repent of the sinful life. Acts 3:19 •Confess Christ. Acts 8:37 •Be baptized for forgiveness of sins. Acts 2:38 •Continue being faithful. Revelation 2:10
