Genesis 1:6-19
Day 2-4
God had/has a
Purpose
That purpose is us!
We were planned before Creation
Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation
of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
Matthew 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your
inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the
creation of the world.
Romans 8:28-29 28
And we know that in all things God works
for the good of those who love him, who have been
called according to his purpose. 29
For those God
foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the
likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among
many brothers.
We were in God’s plan before:
Genesis 1:1-5 (NIV)
1
In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth. 2
Now the earth was formless and
empty, darkness was over the surface of the
deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over
the waters. 3
And God said, “Let there be light,”
and there was light. 4
God saw that the light was
good, and he separated the light from the
darkness. 5
God called the light “day,” and the
darkness he called “night.” And there was
evening, and there was morning—the first day.
He ordered each day w/us in mind

So God made the expanse

God called the dry ground “land,”
and
the gathered waters he called “seas.”
And God saw that it was good.
Day Three - Vegetation (part 2)
Genesis 1:11-13

“Let the land produce vegetation:
seed-bearing plants
and
trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it,
according to their various kinds.”
And it was so.
Day Three (part 2)
12
The land produced vegetation:
plants bearing seed
according to their kinds
and
trees bearing fruit with seed in it
according to their kinds.
And God saw that it was good.

And there was evening, and there was morning
—the third day.
Day Four – Heaven’s lights
Genesis 1:14-15
14
And God said,
“Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky
to separate the day from the night,
and
let them serve as signs to mark seasons and
days and years,
15
and
let them be lights in the expanse of the sky
to give light on the earth.”
And it was so.
Day Four – Heaven’s lights
Genesis 1:16-19 (NIV)

the greater light to govern the day
and

Genesis 1:16-19 (NIV)
17
God set them in the expanse of the sky
to give light on the earth,
18
to govern the day and the night,
and to separate light from darkness.
And God saw that it was good.
19
And there was evening, and there was morning
—the fourth day.
God Loves Us so Much that
• He built the universe with us in mind.
• He ordered each day of the creation in
preparation for us.
• He has a plan for us to rule with Christ for
all eternity.
• He has plans for an even better heaven
and earth for us.
