  GOD  Misconceptions aboundconcerning God and result in much false teaching. Many are unfamiliar with various bible passages relating to God and are subject to being led astray of the truth about Him.  Over the next several months, I will present lessons on God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. So, let’s begin.

  GOD  ONE GOD –Mal 2:10 ..have we not all one father…one God created us? .. – 1 Cor 8:4 ..none other God but one – James 2:19 ..there is one God – 1 Tim 2:5 ..there is one God – Eph 4:6 .. One God and Father of all – John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

  GOD  Basic Characteristics –Eternal  John 1:1-3 in the beginning was the word…became  2 Pet 3:5-7 heavens were of old …by the word of God (God said)  John 4:24 God is spirit  Gen 1:26 let us make man in our image  Lk 24:39 a spirit hath not flesh and bones  2 Cor 4:18 things not seen are eternal

  GOD  Basic Characteristics –All three equal – Acts 17:29 ….the Godhead …(sum total of the qualities of God, being perfect, sinless, complt – 2 Peter 1:3 …according to His divine power… – 2 Pet 1:4 … be partakers of the divine nature .. NT:2304 theios (thi'-os); from NT:2316; godlike (neuter as noun, divinity): KJV - divine, godhead.

  GOD  Basic Characteristics –Attributes  Omnipresence – in every place - Jer 23:23-24  Goodness (perfectly kind) – Ps 107:1,8,15,21,31,43  Holiness (pure, sinless) – Lev 11:44-45  Omniscience (knowing all) – Ps 147:1-5  Omnificence (the one originator) – John 1:1-3  Grace (unmerited favor) – John 1:16-17, Eph 2:4-5  Truth (absolutely reliable in all) – Heb 6:17-18  Omnipotent (all powerful) – Jer 32:17, 27

  GOD  God MakesChoices – Deut 7:6-7 chose His people – Ps 78:68 chose Judah – Heb 5:8-9 chose Jesus to author salvation – John 14:26 chose the Holy Spirit to teach and deliver all things to the apostles – 2 Pet 1:3-4 we have all things God has chosen for us

  GOD  Conclusions – Godconsists of 3 distinct spirits – God is eternal having no beginning & no end – God is divine or deity. All three equally so. – God makes choices and cannot lie or make mistakes. – God the Father is supreme. Jesus and the Holy Spirit do the Fathers will resulting in complete unity of purpose, which has always been for the good of man.
