Introduction
The term “Angelic Ministry” also refers to the biblical concept of angels
as ministering spirits sent by God to serve believers, particularly those
who are heirs of salvation
Hebrews 1:14: Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve
those who will inherit salvation?
This verse establishes angels as spiritual beings tasked with serving
believers.
What are Angels?
• Angels are spiritually created beings created by GOD to assist him in
heavenly administration
• Angels are described as God’s messengers, agents, and servants, with
roles including worship, protection, guidance, and delivering divine
messages. Their ministry is motivated by devotion to God, not
personal affection for humans.
Characteristics
• Spiritual Beings: Angels are non-corporeal, meaning they lack physical bodies,
though they can appear in human form or other manifestations (e.g., with wings
or radiant light) when interacting with humans (Genesis 18:2, Luke 24:4).
• Immortal: Angels are not subject to death, as they are eternal beings created
before humanity (Job 38:7, Psalm 148:2-5).
• Powerful but Limited: Angels possess superhuman strength and abilities (2 Kings
19:35, where one angel slays 185,000 Assyrians), but they are not omnipotent,
omniscient, or omnipresent, unlike God.
• Free Will: Angels have the capacity to choose obedience or rebellion, as
evidenced by Satan and the fallen angels (Revelation 12:9).
• Innumerable: Scripture describes “myriads” of angels (Hebrews 12:22,
Revelation 5:11),
• Appearance: Angels often appear in human-like forms (Hebrews 13:2,
“entertained angels unaware”) or with awe-inspiring features, such as wings
(Isaiah 6:2, Seraphim with six wings) or radiant glory (Luke 2:9). They can also
take other forms, like fire or wind (Hebrews 1:7).
Order of the Angels
• According to The Celestial Hierarchy by Dionysius the Areopagite,
there are nine choirs of angels, grouped into three triads (or
spheres), each with specific functions and levels of proximity to God.

foundations of God's will.

1. Seraphim 2. Cherubim 3. Thrones
2nd

• Second Triad – Carry out God’s governance of creation

celestial movements and control cosmos

after the invasion of demonic forces in the world and distribution of power among humans

Which Choir did Lucifer belong to?
• Lucifer is traditionally believed to have belonged to the highest
angelic choir—either the Seraphim or the Cherubim—based on
interpretations from Scripture and early Church teachings.
• Biblical Hints:
• Isaiah 14:12: “How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the
morning!”
• Ezekiel 28:14: “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I
established you... You were on the holy mountain of God.

What do we get to learn from Angelic
ministry?
Angel Ministry Scripture Reference Christian Application
Obey God’s word faithfully Psalm 103:20 Live in full obedience to Scripture
Worship continually Revelation 4:8 Cultivate a life of true worship
Serve humbly and silently Luke 1:19 (Gabriel’s humility) Minister without seeking attention
Engage in spiritual warfare Revelation 12:7 Be spiritually prepared and prayerful
Guard and protect Psalm 91:11 Care for and intercede on behalf of others
Rejoice in salvation Luke 15:10 Value and proclaim the Gospel
Act in the unseen 2 Kings 6:17 Trust and serve even when not seen or praised
Final Thought
Angels are not our role models in terms of salvation
(for that we have Jesus Christ), but their absolute
loyalty, joy in God's will, and servant nature give
Christians a heavenly example of what it means to
live for God.
“Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” —
Matthew 6:10
Let us do God’s will on earth, as the angels do it in
heaven.
