Capacitors and resistors have several applications in electronics circuits. Capacitors can smooth power supply voltage into direct current, eliminate power spikes by placing a small capacitor across logic circuits, and pass alternating signals while blocking direct current. Resistor-capacitor circuits can integrate or filter input signals and differentiate waves.

RESISTOR AND CAPACITOR APPLICATION • POWER SUPPLY FILTER - A capacitor will smooth (filter) the pulsating voltage from a power supply into a steady direct current (DC).
RESISTOR AND CAPACITOR APPLICATION • SPIKES REMOVER • In digital logic circuits it is applicable, the power spikes can e eliminated by placing a small ( 0.1 µ F) capacitor across the power lead of the logic circuit.
RESISTOR AND CAPACITOR APPLICATION • AC – DC SELECTIVE FILTER • Often an electrical signal will be riding upon a steady DC signal. A capacitor will pass the fluctuating signal and completely block the steady DC level.
RESISTOR AND CAPACITOR APPLICATION • R-C CIRCUITS ( Integrator)(for amplifier) • If the input pulses are speed up the output wave form ( saw tooth) will not reach the full height. • The integrator can function as a filter which passes only signal below a certain frequency.
RESISTOR AND CAPACITOR APPLICATION • DEFFERENTIATOR ( for television receiver) • This circuits produces symmetrical output waves with sharp positive and negative peaks.
