20. judgment

God has revealed Himself through three books: nature, the sanctuary service, and the Bible. The sanctuary service, found in the Old Testament, prefigured Jesus' ministry in the heavenly sanctuary and provided a way for people to understand prophecy and the plan of salvation. On the Day of Atonement in 1844, Jesus entered the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary to begin the final cleansing of sins, as foretold in Daniel 8:14.

God's Three Books  Through nature, through types and symbols, through patriarchs and prophets, God had SPOKEN to the world. DA 34  1ST BOOK-The Creation. Job 12:7-10  Among the heathen are those who worship God ignorantly, those to whom the light is never brought by human instrumentality, yet they will not perish. Though ignorant of the written law of God, they have heard His VOICE speaking to them in nature, and have done the things that the law required. Their works are evidence that the Holy Spirit has touched their hearts, and they are recognized as the children of God. {DA 638.2}
 2ND BOOK-The Sanctuary  1sam 3:3 And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God [was], and Samuel was laid down [to sleep]; That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here [am] I.  Those who received the light concerning the sanctuary and the immutability of the law of God, were filled with joy and wonder, as they saw the beauty and harmony of the system of truth that opened to their understanding. {GC88 454.1}
 3rd BOOK-The BIBLE  John17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 5BC 1147 >All whom God is leading will manifest a high regard for the Scriptures in which His VOICE is heard.
For what purpose was the sanctuary to be erected? 1. For God to dwell with us • EXO 25:8 “Let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them” 2. For God to Sanctify us • EZEKIEL 37:28 “And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.”
3. To show us God’s way . Psalms 77:13 “Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary: who [is so] great a God as [our] God?” 4.It enables us to understand prophecy : • ‘’ The whole system of types and symbols was a compacted prophecy of the gospel, a presentation in which were bound up the promises of redemption.” {AA 14.1} • “As a people, we should be earnest students of prophecy; we should not rest until we become intelligent in regard to the subject of the sanctuary, which is brought out in the visions of Daniel and John”.{EV 222}
5.THE SANCTUARY-THE GOSPEL IN THE OLD TESTAMENT • Heb. 3:16; 4:2,6, “Unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them," or, "the gospel was first preached unto them“ • The Gospel was preached by Moses by means of the sanctuary and its services • Luke 24:27- "beginning at Moses ... He expounded unto them the things concerning Himself." • Luke 24:44"All things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses…concerning Me."
6 .SANCTUARY SHOWS THE PLAN OF SALVATION The sanctuary in heaven is the very center of Christ's work in behalf of men. It concerns every soul living upon the earth. It opens to view the plan of redemption, bringing us down to the very close of time and revealing the triumphant issue of the contest between righteousness and sin. It is of the utmost importance that all should thoroughly investigate these subjects GC488
. 7 )Thus the sanctuary not only illuminates truth, but it reveals error  But such subjects as the sanctuary, in connection with the 2300 days, the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, are perfectly calculated to explain the past Advent movement and show what our present position is, establish the faith of the doubting, and give certainty to the glorious future. These, I have frequently seen, were the principal subjects on which the messengers should dwell. {EW 63.2}
SANCTUARY SHOWS THE PLAN OF SALVATION SALVATION
Why a Sanctuary What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19) From eternal ages it was God's purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator. Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a temple for God. {DA 161.1}
DANIEL 8:14 ”And He said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days, then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.”
THE SANCTUARY FINALLY CLEANSED
DANIEL 8:14 At the end of the 2300days, Jesus would enter the Most Holy Place to cleanse the heavenly sanctuary.
SATAN HATES THE SANCTUARY 1—Satan used the Jewish church to block the light of Jesus the Messiah as the Lamb in the courtyard. 2—Satan used the Roman Catholic church to block the light of Jesus, our Great High Priest, in the Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary. 3—Now he wants to block the light of Jesus Christ in the Most Holy Place. What church system is he trying to use to do this?
This occurred on the Day of Atonement, October 22, 1844, when Jesus entered into the Most Holy Place of the temple in heaven.
The DAY of ATONEMENT Second, God had told them that something special was to happen when prophetic time should be no longer.
