Smart Water Level Indicator
Using Arduino and Ultrasonic Sensor
Introduction
• Water is an essential natural resource. A water
level indicator helps monitor water levels in
tanks, preventing overflow and dry running of
pumps.
Objective
• 1. Monitor water level continuously.
• 2. Alert users via LCD and buzzer.
• 3. Prevent water wastage and motor damage.
Components Required
• - Arduino Uno
• - Ultrasonic Sensor (HC-SR04)
• - I2C LCD Display (16x2)
• - Buzzer
• - Jumper Wires
• - Power Supply
• - Resistors (if needed)
Working Principle
• The ultrasonic sensor sends sound waves.
When these waves hit the water surface, they
reflect back. The sensor calculates the
distance from the time taken, and Arduino
displays water level and alerts with buzzer.
Circuit Diagram Description
• - Trig and Echo to Arduino digital pins
• - LCD via I2C
• - Buzzer to digital pin
• - 5V adapter or battery powers the system
Advantages
• - Low-cost
• - Prevents overflow/dry-run

Conclusion
• Arduino-based water level indicators offer a
smart, affordable, and effective solution to
water management. They help conserve
resources and can be upgraded for wider
applications.
