Dual Axis Solar Tracker System
• Fossil fuels are depleting rapidly,
increasing the need for renewable
energy
• Solar energy is reliable, but fixed
panels cannot capture sunlight
efficiently
• The amount of energy generated
depends on the angle and
intensity of sunlight
• This project demonstrates a Dual
What is a Dual Axis Solar
Tracker?
• A dual axis solar tracker
automatically aligns the solar
panel with the sun
• It moves the panel in two
directions:
• Horizontal (east–west)
• Vertical (up–down)
• Uses LDR sensors to detect
sunlight direction
• Servo motors adjust the panel
position continuously
Components Used
• Arduino UNO - controls the entire
system
• 4 LDR sensors - detect sunlight
intensity from all directions
• 2 Servo motors - rotate the panel
horizontally and vertically
• Solar panel - captures solar energy
• Resistors, breadboard, jumper wires -
for circuit connections
Circuit & Assembly Overview
• LDRs are placed in a cross
arrangement to detect light imbalance
• Each LDR forms a voltage divider for
accurate readings
• Servo motors are connected to Arduino
digital pins
• A mechanical frame allows smooth two-
axis movement
• The setup continuously feeds light data
to the Arduino
