NAME AND LOCATION
 The river present nearest to my location is the most
famous river in Pakistan: The Indus River.
 The Indus River is one of the longest rivers in the world
which flows mainly through Pakistan and partially
through India and China.
 It flows through Tibet in China, Ladakh in India, and
Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab ,and Sindh in Pakistan.
SOURCE AND MOUTH
 The source of a river is where the river begins while the
mouth of a river is where the river ends. A river usually
starts from steep slope areas for instance mountains. The
river usually ends in seas, oceans, or lakes.
 The source of the Indus River is present in Tibet, China
while the mouth of the Indus River is present in the
Arabian Sea near Karachi.
 Significant geographical features at the source and
mouth of the Indus River are:
Source: Tibetan Plateau, Lake Mansarovar, Kailash
Mountain Range, Glaciers.

LENGTH AND COURSE
 The total length of the Indus River is approximately 3,180
kilometers, making it one of the longest rivers in the world.
 The Indus River starts in the Tibetan Plateau near Lake
Mansarovar and flows northwest into the Ladakh region of India. It
then enters Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan, passing through
mountains and green valleys. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the river
flows near cities like Attock, Mianwal, and Dera Ismail Khan.

 In Punjab, the Indus meets other tributaries like the Jhelum,


Chenab, and Ravi, flowing close to Multan. As it moves into Sindh,
it passes through Sukkur and Hyderabad, finally reaching Karachi
and flowing into the Arabian Sea at the Indus River Delta.
