Hardware Components
Computer Hardware refers to the physical components of a computer
system.
The component of computer hardware are:
1. Input devices
2. Output devices
3. Storage devices
4. Processing devices (ALU and Control Unit)
Input Devices: These are devices
used to enter data into the
computer.
Examples are:
1. Keyboard [Link]
2. Mouse
3. Graphic Tablets

4. Cameras 11. Touch pads
5. Video capture hardware 12. Microphone
6. Barcode reader
7. Digital camera 13. Magnetic Tape Drive
8. Joystick
2. Output Devices: Output devices display the result of processed data.
Examples are:

1. Monitor
2. Printer
3. Plotter
4. Projector
5. Speaker
6. Head phone
7. Film Recorder
8. Microfiche
Storage Devices: Storage devices
are devices used to store data into
or from the computer
Examples are: Memory
1. Memory
2. Flash drive
3. Hard disk
4. Compact Disk
5. Floppy Disk etc
Arithmetic Logic Unit
The Arithmetic-Logic Unit (ALU), performs two
type of operations ; arithmetic and logical
The arithmetic operations are fundamental
mathematical operations such as addition,
subtraction, multiplication and division
Logical operations consist of comparisons. That is,
two pieces of data are compared to see whether
one is equal to (=), less than (<), or greater then
(>), less than or equal to (<), greater than or equal
to (>) and not equal to (=) the other.
CONTROL UNIT
The control Unit coordinates most of the
operations in the computer. It is responsible for
coordinating all the hardware operations of the
computer system
