tea. She made 20 milk teas and

2. Maria bought 3 boxes of pencils, each containing 8 pencils at

GEMDAS stands for Grouping, Exponents,
Multiplication and Division, and Addition and
Subtraction. This means that in simplifying
numerical expressions, the operation one should
work first is the Grouping symbols (parenthesis,
brackets, braces) then Exponents, Multiplication
and Division next, and lastly Addition and
Subtraction. That is, in simplifying numerical
expressions, the order of operations should
follow GEMDAS according to the steps outlined
in this lesson.
