1)Ecosystem
• An ecosystem is a functional unit of nature
where living organisms interact with each
other and their surrounding physical
environment. These interactions involve the
flow of energy and cycling of nutrients
2) Types of ecosystem
3) components of ecosystem
components of ecosystem
4) BIOTIC
• Producers
are organisms, like plants and algae, that create their own food (sugars) from
sunlight or chemicals, forming the base of food webs by converting energy
into a usable form for the entire ecosystem, making them essential for life

Consumers
Consumers are organisms in an ecosystem that cannot produce their own food
and must obtain energy by eating other organisms.

Decomposers
Decomposers are microorganisms, like bacteria and fungi, that break down
dead organic matter and waste products
5) What is food chain
• A food chain is a linear sequence in an ecosystem
that shows how energy and nutrients flow from
one organism to another, with each organism
being eaten by the next
6) Food web
• A food web is a network of interconnected food chains
within an ecosystem that shows the complex feeding
relationships and the flow of energy among different
organisms
7) Trophic levels
8) Energy flow in Trophic levels
• 10% Law
only 10% of the energy from one trophic level is
transferred to the next.
9) Depletion of Ozone layer in the atmosphere
• Ozone layer depletion is the gradual thinning of the ozone layer in the Earth's
stratosphere, primarily caused by human-made chemicals like CFCs
(Chlorofluorocarbons), which destroy ozone molecules. This depletion
increases harmful UV radiation reaching Earth, leading to health problems like
skin cancer and damaging ecosystems.

• ultraviolet (UV) radiation: is a type of high-energy electromagnetic

radiation from the sun that can damage the DNA and proteins within living
cells

produce
