Male Reproductive
System
Main Parts and Functions:
Testes/Testicles
-Produce sperm cells and
testosterone (male sex
hormones)
Scrotum
-Protects the testes and
keeps
them at the right temperature.
Epididymis
-Stores and matures
sperm cells
Vas Deferens
-Tube that carries
sperm from epididymis to
urethra.
Seminal vesicles
Produce fluid that nourishes
sperm.
Prostate gland
Adds fluid that protects
sperm and aids movement.
Urethra
Passageway for semen and
urine (not at the same time).
Penis
Organ used for urination and
transferring sperm to the
female.
Female Reproductive
System
Main Parts and Functions:
Ovaries
-Produce egg cells (ova)
and female sex hormones
(estrogen, progesterone)
Fallopian tubes
-Passageway for the egg; site
the fertilization
Uterus (womb)
-Where the fertilized egg
implants and develops into a
fetus.
Cervix
-Narrow opening of the
uterus; allows sperm entry
and baby exit.
Vagina
-Birth Canal and passage for
