Third Generation (1968-1975)-Integrated Circuits

COMPONENTS OF A COMPUTER SYSTEM
INPUT DEVICES=Provide data from the outside world to the
processor. E.g. keyboard, mouse , joystick & scanners
Central Processing Unit(CPU)=Also called the processor, this is
the heart or brain of the computer system. Carries out the
calculations for the program and controls the other
components of the system.
OUTPUT DEVICES=allows the processor to communicate the
results of its work to the outside world. E.g. monitors,
printers, speakers & LCD displays
BASIC SOFTWARE TOOLS
Microsoft Word- A word processing software used to create ,
edit , and print documents
Microsoft Excel- A spread sheet software used to store ,
organize and analyse data.
Microsoft PowerPoint-A presentation software used to create
and display Slideshows
Microsoft Access-A database management software used to
store, organise and manage data
