PATTERNS
DID YOU KNOW?
Patterns occur implants in trees in a
variety of ways. Many of these patterns
are related to a famous sequence of
numbers called Fibonacci number is like
1,1,2,3,5,8,13,…

A number pattern is the sequence of numbers that follows
specific rules, rhythmic operations, such as adding
subtracting, multiplying, and dividing can be used as rules.
There are other patterns that follow more than one rule.
Each number in the pattern is called a term of the
sequence below some examples of number patterns, can
you identify the rule used to generate them?
EXAMPLE 1:
0,2,4,6,8,…
Every two consecutive numbers in
this sequence differ by 2 the
sequence is continued by adding 2
to the last number
EXAMPLE 1:
0,2,4,6,8,…
The next number, the pattern is 10
the sequence is made up of all even
numbers. The rule used to get
generate. This pattern is adding to
the proceeding number.
EXAMPLE 2:
4,9,14,19,24,29
Every two consecutive numbers in
this pattern differ by 5 the pattern
is continued by adding 5 to the last
number
EXAMPLE 2:
4,9,14,19,24,29
The rule used to generate this
pattern is adding 5 to the
proceeding number
EXAMPLE 3:
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,…

The next term is obtained by

multiplying the proceeding number
by 2
EXAMPLE 3:
1,2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,…

The rule used to generate this

pattern is doubling the proceeding
number
