• To enhance and incorporate new lexical/vocabulary items.
• To reinvigorate the grammar and tense structure
• To read and comprehend with appropriate speed and
adequate understanding utilizing different techniques
• To distinguish between the different context-based (social
educational) scenarios
• To learn effective interpersonal skills in formal and
informal settings
• To express themselves with acceptable accuracy
• To activate and reinforce the abilities to understand the
explicit and implicit texts
READING MODULE
• Aloud Reading
• Aloud Reading means reading the content loudly at the
top of his voice by the reader.
• The main purpose of Aloud Reading to improve
pronunciation.
• This type of reading is useful for students studying at
Primary level of Education.
• Correct Body Posture plays a major role in this type of
reading like how to stand or how to hold a book.
Aloud Reading
• More time is required to read the given content for this
type of reading.
• Only small length of content can be read effectively by
this type of reading.
• It can improve pronunciation of reader under the
guidance or support of expert/teacher/language
laboratory.
• It can enhance expression and communication ability of
a reader.
Silent Reading
• Silent Reading means reading silently without any lip-
movement.
• The main purpose of Silent Reading is to comprehend
the content.
• Silent Reading can be categorized into Extensive
Reading & Intensive Reading. Intensive Reading can
further be categorized into Scanning, Skimming, Critical
Reading
• This type of reading is useful for the students studying
at Higher level of Education.
Silent Reading
• This type of reading is done in sitting and comfortable
position, However, it is focused that backbone should be
straight while sitting during silent reading.
• In this type of reading less Physical Efforts are
performed as less body organs; mainly eyes are
involved in this type of reading and Reader feels less
tired in comparison to Aloud Reading.
• Less time is required to read the given/ specific for
silent reading.
• It can develop concentration ability of reader.
Active Reader
• Engages actively:
• An active reader is engaged with the text and actively participates in the
reading process.
• Questions and reflects:
• They ask themselves questions, predict what will happen, and think critically
about the text's meaning.
• Summarizes and connects:
• They summarize key ideas and connect the text to their prior knowledge.
• Note-taking and highlighting:
• They may take notes or highlight important passages to aid comprehension
and retention.
• Purposeful reading:
• They read with a specific purpose in mind, such as understanding a concept or
completing an assignment.
Passive Reader
• Performs a basic read-through: A passive reader
might skim through the text or read it word by word,
without actively engaging with the material.
• May miss key ideas: They may not fully understand
the text or identify key points.
• Low engagement: They may read while distracted,
tired, or without a clear purpose.
• Limited retention: They are likely to forget the
material soon after reading.
Examples
• Active:
• A student reading a textbook and actively taking notes,
highlighting key passages, and summarizing each chapter.
• Passive:
• Someone reading a book for leisure, without taking notes or
reflecting on the plot.

• READING MODULE: (3 tasks, 40 Qs, 60 min) = 40 Marks / (25%)
• 3 Paragraphs (40 questions in total) 60 min
• WRITING MODULE: (2 tasks, 60 min) = 40 Marks / (25%)
• Task 01 (150 words) 20 min (15 Marks)
• Task 02 (250 words) 40 min (25 Marks)
• LISTENING MODULE: (4 tasks, 40 Qs, 30 min) = 40 Marks / (25%)
