Understanding Global Demography Basics

Global demography is the scientific study of population, utilizing data from sources such as censuses, vital statistics, and sample surveys. Key elements include birth rate, total fertility rate, death rate, life expectancy, and growth rate, which help analyze demographic transitions from high birth and death rates to low rates. Migration is categorized into internal and international types, with integration, citizenship, and transnationalism being important concepts in understanding migrant interactions with host countries.
