In the academic life of students, study habits serve as a
foundation for learning and success. Effective study
practices such as regular note review, proper time
management, setting priorities, and avoiding distractions
play a significant role in determining how well students
perform in school. Good study habits not only help
students understand lessons better but also improve
memory retention and problem-solving skills. Despite
having access to learning materials, many students still
struggle with low academic performance due to poor
study routines, procrastination, or lack of motivation.
In the Philippine context, Junior High School students
face various challenges that affect their ability to study
effectively. Distractions from social media, excessive
use of gadgets, limited parental supervision, peer
influence, and lack of study discipline are common
issues that hinder academic focus. Furthermore,
increasing academic expectations demand more time
and effort from students, making it essential for them
to adopt consistent and effective study strategies.

This study focuses on the relationship between
the study habits and academic performance of 35
Junior High School students at Sianan National
High School during School Year 2025–2026. The
research gathers data through questionnaires and
students’ general averages from the previous
grading period.
Delimitation:
Delimitation:
The study only includes Grades 7 to 10
students. It does not consider other factors like
mental health, family background, or teacher
influence. Academic performance is limited to
the general average during School Year 2025–
2026.
Objectives of the Study:
1. To identify the common study habits of Junior High School students.
2. To determine the academic performance of the respondents based on
their
general average.
3. To find out if there is a significant correlation between students’ study
habits
and academic performance.
