Background
• Ti-alloys are known for their hardness and difficult in machining. These alloys
have higher thermal resistance, higher load bearing capacity and good corrosion
resistance.
• Applications of Ti-alloys:
1. Aerospace industry
2. Marine industry
3. Medical surgery
4. Dentistry

Objective of the research
The main objective of this research is to develop economic machining
parameters (cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut) for sustainable
machining of Titanium α-β alloy (Ti-6Al-4V).
This research will help to reduce production cost by the way of reducing
machining time but not negotiating with the surface integrity of the
products.
Problem Orientation
• Many industries are facing difficulties in machining Ti-alloys at
lower production cost and time with good surface quality.
• Researchers are trying to optimise the machining parameters to
produce more quality products.

Conclusion
• As a result of this research, optimal machining parameters can be
found where fine quality of surface and better production rates can be
achieved.
• These optimised machining parameters can be used for production in
many industries.
