NOTE MAKING
• Note making is an advanced writing skill which is acquired
increasingly importance due to knowledge explosion. There is
a need to remember at least the main points of any given
subject . Note making basically involves noting the main
points of whatever is read or heard , because one cannot be
expected to remember all that one has read .
POINTS TO BE REMEMBERED
• Read the text carefully and underline the important words .
• No need to use grammatically correct sentences .Notes are to be prepared using
points only, i.e. small meaningful phrases ,. Avoid using
conjunctions ,prepositions ,verbs relative pronouns etc. Do not make repetition.
Make minimum 4 to 6 main points divided in paragraphs.
• Subdivision, sub heading is necessary.
• Numbering and indenting the headings and sub headings is a must.
• Must use abbreviations .it carries marks.
• Never use interrogative and exclamatory sentences . Use only statements .
• Follow the format prescribed by cbse. Must indent the subpoits and sub_sub points
.
• Write a suitable title. Within 3 to 5 words. It should be written in capital letter .
• Write the keyto abbreviations in a box.
