What is Narrative Text?

• 📖 Narrative text tells a story with a purpose to entertain.


• ✨ Examples: fairy tales, fables, legends, short stories.
Generic Structure

• 11️⃣Orientation: Introduction of characters, place, and time


• 2️⃣Complication: The problem or conflict
• 3️⃣Resolution: The solution to the problem
• 4️⃣Coda (optional): Moral value or lesson
Language Features

• 🕰 Past tense verbs (e.g., went, saw, was)


• ⏳ Time connectives (e.g., once upon a time, then)
• 🎨 Descriptive language for characters & settings
• 💬 Direct speech ('I will help you,' said the rabbit)
Example Story
