your science teacher for today's lesson.
• Today, you will learn the Different Level of
Biological Organization.
• We will focus our lesson on this Learning
competency.
• “Describe the different levels of biological
organization from cell to biosphere S7LT-IIc-3”
• Biology is the study of life. Since life is such
a broad topic, scientists break it down into
several different levels of organization to
make it easier to study.
• These levels start from the smallest unit of
life and work up to the largest and most
broad category.
• So bear with me this entire video lesson,
because we will be discovering each level of
biological organization, that starts from the
smallest up to the largest level.
• So gear up and be with me.
Levels of Organizations
Living things are
highly organized
and stuctured,
following an
hierarchy that can
be examined on a
scale from small to
large.
• Now, lets begin with the first level which is the
atom.
ATOMS
are indivisivle particles
of matter.
• when we say
indivisible meaning
it cannot be
devided or
separated
Matter can be solid,
liquid, gas and etc.
• When we combine the same atom, or different
atom, it will become the second level of
organization which is the molecule.
MOLECULES
groups of the same
or different kinds of
atoms combine
together.

Smallest unit of
chemical
compounds.
ORGANELLE
Small organs of a
cell with specific
function.

Ex. Metochondria,
nucleus, lysosome
CELL
basic structural and
functional unit of life.

ex. Neuron and Red


blood cell
• When these cells are grouped together, this will
become the next level of organization which is a
tissues.
TISSUES
are group of similar
cells, that work
together to perform a
certain task.

Muscle tissue,
connective tissue, and
neural tissue are
some types of tissue.
• Again, when these tissues are grouped together this
will become an organ which is another level.
ORGANS
are group of tissues that
perform a specific
function

Ex. Brain, Heart, Lungs


ORGAN SYSTEM
is a group of
organs that work
together to
perform specfic
bodily functions.
ORGANISM
an organism is any
individual entity that
embodies the properties
of life.
Ex. Human, plant and
animal
POPULATION
group of organism or
individual that lives in the
same area.

Ex. Pride of lions in Kenya,


Flock of birds, army of
ants
COMMUNITY
the populations of
different species
living and
interacting together
in a distinct area.
ECOSYSTEM
is made up all
communities in a certain
area as well as all the non-
living phyiscal components
of the environment.

Rocks, water, and soil are


part of the ecosystem.
BIOSPHERE
is all of the ecosystems
on earth added together.

Every animal, plant,


bacteria, rock, and
molecule is a part of the
Earth's biosphere.
So, these are the Levels
of Biological
Organization start from
the smallest level which
is the ATOM up to the
largest Level which is the
BIOSPHERE.
