of 2017 dictating that this course will
examine the principles of conceptualizing,
planning, managing, and evaluating
events, conferences, meetings, festivals,
and other such special activities.

MICE stands for meetings, incentives,
conferences, and exhibitions that involve
attendees who share a common interest
and gather at a particular place or venue.
It presents a subsector in tourism that
helps in the economic growth of a country.
These are all under events that are
normally planned and happen where a
group of people is brought together to join
in the activities.
MICE Management
One of the professional courses included in
the curriculum for tourism and hospitality
programs, even to some other business
management-related programs. This course
is a significant competency that was
embedded in the curriculum for future
industry professionals to become more
equipped with planning and organizing
events and other related activities. As this

Refers to functions that businesses organize to reward or motive
staff.
Incentive travel is a management tool for rewarding and
motivating sales representatives, dealers, distributors,
production workers, support staff, and in some cases,
customers.
The company rewards sales representatives who reach sales
targets by sending them on trips.
Usually, the incentive trip will last three days, with hotel stays,
tour packages and planned activities such as dinners, parties
and games.

Usually business or industry based occasions where people get
together to discuss issues and share knowledge.
Similar to meetings, conference/conventions are gatherings of
people with common objectives, organized to exchange ideas,
views and information of common interest to the group.
An organization, usually an association, will organize a
convention each year with a theme related to the organization’s
topic.
EXHIBITION
S It is a type of event. Trade shows, expos, or public displays
where businesses, organizations or individuals showcase their
products, services or artistic works.
Exhibitions are activities organized to show new products,
services and information to people who have an interest in
them, such as potential customers or buyers.
The company showing their new products, the exhibitor,
typically rents an area from the organizer and sets up a booth to
meet with potential buyers.
The buyers or the public need an invitation or a ticket to be
allowed into the exhibition.
