1 Emergency stop Stops gantry motions and X-ray generation in the event of an emergency.
2 Key Turns the gantry on and off (turn towards you for the on position).
3 Control screen Indicates position of gantry and table. The first line is tilt, the second is vertical and third is horizontal. Also displays
X-ray on indicator.
4 Table in/out, up/down Moves the Patient table in the respective directions.
5 Manual scan Used for performing individual scans.
6 Auto scan Used for performing multiple scans in a series.
7 Pause scan Interrupts the scanning series and enables changes. This button may also be used to stop scans under certain
conditions.
8 Enable Enacts machine controlled patient table and gantry movements.
9 Patient intercom microphone control Allows you to speak to the patient.
10 Volume controls Sets volume for the control box and gantry speakers.
Gantry
• Temperature Requirements
-The room-temperature range of operation should be stabilized to within 18 to 24 degrees Celsius
(This temperature range must be maintained at all times.)
-Temperature variations within the range(18 to 24 degrees Celsius) must not exceed 3 degrees Celsius(15 to 27 degrees Celsius)
-The range of relative humidity in the room must be 35% to 70% (non-condensing).
NOTICE
Short Tube Conditioning brings the tube to normal operating temperature.
This process is required daily before any scans are performed on patients, or after 8 to 10 hours of scanner inactivity.
It is recommended you perform Air Calibration once per week
Perform Constancy Checks monthly
Panel
Front Panel Rear Panel
1 Emergency stop Button to bring the scanner and patient table movements and X-ray generation to an immediate halt. The Stop buttons are located on the gantry control panels.
2 Laser Light on/off Button turns on and off both the internal and external laser markers which are used for positioning the patient in the slice plane
3 Unload Moves the patient table(out and down) to positions for easiest patient release at the end of the scanning procedure.
The patient table moves to its maximum distance from the gantry and lowers to its minimal height. When the button is released before completing the process, all motion stops.
4 Couch in , out , up , down Allows you to move the patient table in the respective directions to position the patient between the internal and external laser markers.
A high patient table value(255 maximum) represents a low position; whereas a low value(95 minimum) represents a high position.
5 Zero screen Resets the in/out indicator to zero.
6 Out to external marker Use to move the bed to the outer laser markers of the gantry(it has two sets, one on the scan plane= internal marker, and the other on the outer covers of the gantry= external
marker).
7 Patient Breathing Lights Demo Demos the first acquisition breathing light sequence. Any acquisitions that occurs after the current one is ignored for breathing light demo purposes.
8 Temporary Turn Off Touch Screen Deactivates buttons so that the screen can be cleaned
The screen also shows an X-ray on indicator light and a countdown-to-scan timer (each when activated).
Foot Pedals
1 2 3
1 Free-Float Pedal The free-float pedal (closest to gantry) unlocks the table from its driving mechanism and allows it to be manually extended or
retracted – a quick or emergency table release. You can manually move the table in and out of the gantry only, not up or down.
2 Load Pedal The load pedal (between the unload and free-float pedals) moves the patient table to a preset table height and table-in position. The
height can be configured to your specific needs by your local field service engineer.
3 Unload Pedal The unload pedal returns the tilt position to zero (if applicable). Then the patient table moves out of the gantry and down to the
unload position.
Patient Table
The patient table has following main components:
• Main patient table and base - table can move up or down, and in or out.
• Table top - can move independently in or out from the main patient table unit.
• Release devices - consisting of two tape switches, one on each side of the patient table handle, and the
free-float pedal, located on the floor between the patient table and gantry.
The table support a maximum weight patient of 204 kg
