SOLUTION
SOLUTE + SOLVENT SOLUTION
CONCENTRATED SOLUTION DILUTE SOLUTION
(Solution that have more particle of solute (Solution that have less particle of solute
that dissolve in the solvent) that dissolve in the solvent)
• Soluble : when solid can dissolves into solvent
• Insoluble : when solid can not dissolve into solvent
• Saturated solution : when we put so much solute and the solute can not
dissolve in the solvent anymore
• Substances that are easily soluble in water : sugar, Sodium Chloride (salt),
ethanol (alcohol)
• Substances that are not easily soluble in water : oil, sand, soil.
• Sugar has greater solubility than oil, means sugar is easily soluble then oil.
Temperature & Solubility
• Most solute will dissolve more quickly and easily in hot water than in cold
water
• Hot water have more energy than cold water.
The more energy the particle have, the more they vibrate and move.
This is the reason why most solute dissolve more quickly and easily into hot
water.
• As the temperature increases, the solubility of most solute also increase.
