angles.
____1. It has a 90◦ angle. Right triangle
____2. It has three equal angles, each having a
measure of 60◦. Equiangular triangle
Acute triangle
____3. All its angles are less than 90◦.
____4. It has an angle greater thanObtuse
90◦. triangle
____5. Triangles are named according to the
Angles
measures of their __________.
Identify the following triangles according to its angles.
Give the classifications of triangles according to angles.
Identify the kind of triangle based on the measures of its angles
below.

1. m A = 125˚, m B = 30˚, m C =
25˚
2. m A = 60˚, m B = 60˚, m C =
60˚
3. m A = 90˚, m B = 45˚, m C =
45˚
What is a triangle?
How many sides and angles does a triangle
have?
Give and describe the different kinds of
triangles according to sides.
Give and describe the different kinds of
triangles according to angles.
What do we call a triangle with one of the
angles measure more than 90◦.
Let us start our discussion. These are the
terms related to quadrilaterals.
1. A quadrilateral is a four-sided figure.
2. A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with
two pairs of parallel sides.
3. A rectangle is a parallelogram with four
right angles.
4. A square is a rectangle with equal sides.
What can you say on the pictures below?
A diagonal is a segment joining two opposite vertices of a
polygon. It divides a quadrilateral into two triangles. The sum
of all the angles in a triangle is 180 degrees. Each triangle
formed by the diagonal has a total angle measurement of 180
degrees. Therefore, the sum of all the angles in a
quadrilateral is 360 degrees.
Look at the parallelogram, which are the vertices, the sides
and the angles?
Can you identify the two pairs of opposite sides and the two
opposite angles?
Are each pair of opposite sides and angles all equal?
a) Are both pairs of opposite sides Yes
parallel?
b) Are both pairs of opposite sides Yes
equal?
c) Are both pairs of opposite angles Yes
equal?
d) Is a rectangle a Yes
parallelogram?
e) How would you classify the angles of a
rectangle?
a) Are both pairs of opposite
sides parallel?
Yes
b) Is a square a parallelogram?Yes

c) How would you classify the

angles of a square?
Yes
d) Is a square a rectangle?Yes

e) What can you say about the sides of a

square?
All sides are equal.
Match the quadrilateral on column A to its shape in column B.
