EMBEDDED KIT 1:
DEVICES AND COMPONENTS:
• Microcontroller,
• Power Supply Unit,
• 16x2 Display,
• Buzzer,
• Relay driver with opto isolator,
• 12V Battery,
• AC to DC Converter,
• Regulator,
• SIM 900 GSM Modem,
• Optocoupler,
• Dry Run Sensor,
• Magnetic Sensor (Transducer which converts from electric field to voltage),
• ESP 266 Wi-fi Modem,
• Antenna
EMBEDDED KIT 2:
DEVICES AND COMPONENTS:
• Microcontroller,
• 12V Battery,
• Transmitter,
• antenna,
• Moisture Sensor (Two Nickel coated plates –
the conductivity changes according to the
moisture),
• Volve control unit
Project based objectives:

• To develop embedded system for the intelligent root irrigation

system.

• To develop embedded system for sensing the moisture level of the

ground and switch on the motor for the water flow according to the
moisture level.

• To develop embedded system for motor theft control and buzz alarm
whenever motor undergoes theft.

• To develop automatic detection when motor runs without water and

switch off accordingly to avoid the motor break and intimate same
thing to the farmer to his mobile phone.
PROCEDURE:
Project based Objective 1:
Controlling the water flow to save the water:

– Moisture sensor which is fitted near the root of the tree senses the
moisture level (The moisture sensor consists of two Nickel coated Plates
in which the conductivity changes according to the moisture level).
– Embedded Kit 2 will read the moisture level.
– If the moisture level is less than the threshold value, the embedded Kit
2 will send signal to embedded kit 1.
– Upon receiving the signal, the embedded kit 1 will switch on the motor
so that the water will flow through the pipe line to the field.
– The embedded kit 2 will open the valves corresponding to the segments
where the moisture levels are less than the threshold level.
– When the valve opened, the water will flow directly to the root through
plastic cylinders fitted in the ground near the root.
– The entire automated control information will be sent to the farmers’
mobile phone.
PROCEDURE:
Project based Objective 2:
Motor theft control:
• A magnetic sensor switch is a transducer which can convert the
magnetic field to the voltage and will be fitted on the ground below the
motor and a magnet will be fitted to the motor just above the switch.
• The switch senses the magnetic field produced by the magnet and
switch will be on always.
• When anybody removed the motor and trying to steel it, since the
magnet is along with the motor, there is no magnetic field to the switch
and hence the switch well be off.
• This will be sensed by the embedded kit 2 and send the signal to the
embedded kit 1.
• On receiving the signal, the embedded kit 2 will switch on the Alarm
and same information will be passed to the mobile phone of the farmer.
PROCEDURE:
Project based Objective 3:
Protecting the Motor when it is running
without water:
• A dry run sensor (Two Nickel Coated Plates in
which the conductivity changes when there is not
flow of water which is arranged to the water pump)
senses the water flow.

• The embedded kit 1 will reads the information

from the dry run sensor and switch off the motor
when there is no water flow and the same
information will be passed to the mobile phone of
the farmer.
