What is an Editorial?
An editorial is a piece of writing with the purpose to
inform, persuade or comment; they are usually found
in magazines, newspapers, and/or online. They are
non-fiction, and they can be about anything.

Parts of
Editorial
Introduction
The first paragraph, usually states
the opinion (like thesis opinion) and
give a brief background about the
issue if necessary. It should grab
the readers’ attention. It should
mention 2-3 reasons that support
the opinion.
Body or evidence
It contains all the details supporting
the opinion (often around the
arguments that address the
counterpoint.)
Conclusion
It restates the opinion on issue
and the reasons that support it. It
leaves the readers with
something to think, and gives a
call to action or points to a
possible resolution to the conflict
at hand.

 Schools Should Have More Art Classes
I strongly believe that schools should have more art classes for students. Art helps students
express their feelings and imagination. Many students enjoy drawing, painting, or making crafts,
and it gives them a break from regular academic subjects. Schools must give more importance
to art, just like math and science.

Art classes also help students in many ways. They allow children to relax and reduce their stress
from studying hard subjects. Students also learn to think creatively and solve problems by using
their imagination. Art can even improve focus, patience, and fine motor skills. Without enough
art time, students may feel bored or overwhelmed.

That is why I believe schools should add more art classes every week. It will make students
happier and more excited to come to school. I suggest that every student should have at least
two art classes each week, so they can enjoy learning and discover their creative talents.
 We Need More Playgrounds in Our Community
I believe our community needs to build more playgrounds for children. Playgrounds are places
where kids can play safely and stay active. Today, many areas don’t have enough safe spaces
for children to play outside. More playgrounds would help create a healthier and happier
community.

Playgrounds offer many benefits to children. They help kids exercise and stay strong, which
keeps their bodies healthy. Playing outside also allows children to meet new friends and learn
how to work together. Without playgrounds, kids might spend too much time indoors on phones
or computers, which is not good for their health.

I think our local leaders should build more playgrounds in parks and neighborhoods. This would
give children more chances to play safely and stay active. Having more playgrounds will make
our community more family-friendly and fun for everyone.
 School is Sometimes Fun
I think school is okay. Some people like it, and some people don’t. I like some parts of
school, but not everything.

Sometimes, I like recess and lunch because they are fun. But some classes are boring and
make me feel sleepy. I don’t really know if school should change or not. It’s just how it is
sometimes.

School can be fun or boring. It depends on the day. I don’t have any ideas about how to
make it better, but maybe just more fun things would help.
