Blood
Blood is a fluid connective tissue that consists of plasma,
blood cells and platelets. It circulates throughout our body
delivering oxygen and nutrients to various cells and
tissues. It makes up 8% of our body weight. An average
adult possesses around 5-6 liters of blood.
Blood Components
• There are four components of blood. Red blood cell, white blood
cell ,plasma and platelets. Red blood cells: Carry oxygen and
carbon dioxide.
• White blood cells: Part of the immune system, fighting infections.
• Plasma: The liquid portion of blood, containing water, electrolytes,
and proteins.
• Platelets: Help with blood clotting.
