Introduction to Computer Programming

The document provides an introduction to programming, covering definitions, types of programming languages (low-level and high-level), and key concepts such as algorithms, pseudocode, and flowcharts. It explains the programming cycle, types of errors, debugging, and fundamental data types in Java, including variables and constants. Additionally, it discusses type casting and its implications in programming.

TYPES OF LOW-LEVEL LANGUAGE

Machine Language - language that the computer can

directly understand.

Assembly Language - symbolic form of machine

language that eaiser for people to read.

TYPES OF HIGH-LEVEL LANGUAGE

Syntax - rules of the language
Commands - programs statement that carry out the task that the
program has to perform.
Compiler - program that translates a program written in a high - level
language into a low - level language.
Interpreter - act as a compiler, but it translate one program statement
at a time.
Syntax Errors - errors that might be encountered during the process of
translation.
Logical Errors - errors that occur whent the syntax of the program is
correct, vut the expected is not.
Debugging - process of locating and correcting the errors of a program.

Algorithm
It is a problem-solving technique used in
solving programming problems. It is a
step-by-step problem-solving process in
which a solution is arrived at a finite
