◦ "Mobile phones are a constant source of distraction in schools.
In the classroom, students often pretend to be working while
texting under the desk or watching videos. This reduces their
focus and impacts the entire learning environment. Outside the
classroom, during breaks, students are glued to their screens
instead of socialising face-to-face. We've also had to deal with
serious issues such as cheating during assessments and
cyberbullying on school premises. A complete ban is the only
way to ensure a focused and respectful atmosphere for
learning."
Text B – Student Leader's
View
◦ "While I understand the concerns about phone misuse, banning
them entirely is unfair and unrealistic. Phones are essential
tools for communication and learning. Many of us use them to
check our schedules, set reminders, or even record important
lessons. During emergencies, they provide a vital link to our
families. Rather than banning phones, we should be educated
on how to use them responsibly. Rules can be enforced to limit
their use during lessons while still allowing access during
breaks or for academic use. It’s about trust and balance."
