Pinhole camera
A pinhole camera is a simple camera without a lens but
with a tiny [Link] a light-proof box with
something like a small hole in one side. The
camera obscura effect occurs when light from a
scene travels through the aperture and projects
an inverted picture on the box's opposite side.
Uses of pinhole camera
•The pinhole camera is utilized for projecting the specific
image on the translucent surface and this facilitates the safe
as well as real-time observation of the solar eclipse.
•These cameras can be used for surveillance since they are
hard to detect.
•The pinhole camera can be used for observing reflected
images of glittery objects like the sun.
•Most of the applications make use of pinhole camera models
for the study of sun’s movement over a lengthy period of
time. This process is called solargraphy.
Different bettween the pinhole
camera and a normal camera
A pinhole camera does not have a glass lens, but
instead a pinhole where the light enters the
photographing surface (film or digital sensor) to
record the image. A conventional camera uses a
glass lens with or without a shutter that directs the
light to the recording surface.
