19 Head

21 Thorax
(a) Walls, ribs, Cartilages Irregular linear fracture of 2nd to 9th ribs which are left sided ribs along anterior

along with tear of intercostal nerves and vessels. This injury is consistent with
injury no 3 of column no 17.
(b) Pleura Left sided pleura is torn irregularly underneath above mentioned fractures.
Left sided chest cavity Contain about 1000 ml of red liquid blood.
(c) Larynx, Trachea and Bronchi Empty and pale.
(d) Right Lung with weight left lung show irregular multiple tears of varying size in both lobes. Right lung
is intact and pale. On cutting exudes few cc red fluid blood mixed with froth.
(e) Left Lung with weight
(f) Pericardium Intact and normal.
(g) Heart with weight Normal in weight and size. All coronaries are intact and patent. On cutting
chambers contain few cc reddish liquid blood.
(h) Large vessels Contain few cc reddish liquid blood.
(i) Additional remarks Nil
22 Abdomen
a) Walls Dark red haematoma of irregular shape and size of 12*10 cm found
in muscles of left lateral aspect of abdomen and this is consistent
with injury no 3 of column no 17.
b) Peritoneum Intact and normal.
c). Cavity 1000 cc of reddish fluid blood collection.
d) Buccal Cavity, teeth, tongue and pharynx As per column no. 13 and 20(c).
e) Oesophagus Empty.
f). Stomach and its contents
Empty and mucosa pale.
g) Small intestine and its contents Contain yellowish colour thin paste like material with no abnormal
smell perceived.
Contains fecal matter with gas.
h). Large intestine and its contents
• Liver (with weight ) and gall Intact and pale
bladder
• Pancreas and Supra renals Intact and pale
• Spleen with weight Three irregular lacerations of size varying from 2- 4.5 cm* 0.3 –
0.6 cm found on outer surface of liver with rupture of hilar
vessels.
• Kidneys with weight Intact and pale
• Bladder Empty.
• Organs of generation Nothing particular.
• Additional remarks Nil

IV. OPINION AS TO THE CAUSE OR PROBABLE CAUSE OF - Cause of death is shock and hemorrhage due to Head
DEATH….... Injury associated with blunt abdominal & chest injuries
