-A computer network is an interconnected system of computing

devices linked via communication channels to facilitate data
exchange and resource sharing. Networks vary in scale, topology,
and complexity—from localized LANs in offices to expansive global
WANs underpinning the Internet The term ‘computer’ can mean a
range of different devices, including laptops, tablets and
smartphones.

LOCAL AREA
-A Local Area Network (LAN) is a network
NETWORK
of interconnected devices, like computers
and printers, within a small geographic
area, such as a home, office, or building. It
enables devices to communicate and share
resources like files and printers. LANs can
be small, like a home network, or large, like
a corporate campus network
Examples of LANs:
• home networks
• small businesses
• schools and colleges

NETWORK
A Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is a
network that connects
computers within a metropolitan area,
such as a city or a large campus, using
high-speed technologies. It bridges the
gap between Local Area Networks
(LANs), which are smaller and more
localized, and Wide Area Networks
(WANs), which span larger geographic
areas.

Local Area Networks (LANs) or other
networks. It allows devices and users in
different locations to communicate and
share resources, typically over distances
greater than a single building or campus.
Examples of WANs:
• the internet
• mobile networks
• banking networks
PAN OR

NETWORKA personal area network
(PAN) is a computer network for
interconnecting electronic
devices within an individual
person's workspace. A PAN

CONCLUSI
ON
In this presentation, we have explored the significance
of computer networks. We've seen how networks
impact our daily lives, enabling everything from
internet access and online education to the
connectivity of smart devices. As technology continues
to evolve, the role of networks will only grow, further
connecting people and devices in more advanced and
seamless ways.
