The internet has revolutionized communication, access to
information, and commerce, but like any powerful tool, it can
have downsides. Some of the negative impacts of the WWW:
• Information Overload: Users struggle to navigate through
vast amounts of data, leading to confusion and
misinformation.

online can be addictive and lead to social isolation and
depression.
• Security risks: People can steal personal information or
infect computers with malware through the WWW.
Privacy.
• Internet privacy refers to the ability to control the
information shared online.
• It provides a set of tools and actions through which users
can control their data when browsing the web to protect
themselves from cybercriminals.
• This includes personal information such as name,
address, phone number, email, and financial
information. It also includes search queries and social
media activity.

Virtual democracy refers to using digital technologies and
online platforms to enhance democratic processes and citizen
participation in governance. Some of the benefits of virtual
democracy are:
• Increased Participation: Virtual platforms can remove
geographical barriers, allowing more people to engage in
political discussions.
• Enhanced Transparency: Governments can use online
platforms to share information, increasing accountability.
• Global Collaboration: Virtual platforms can facilitate
communication between citizens and governments across
borders on global issues.
