is a one way thing and country

began in the 1820’s , and in
the late 19th century and early
20th century drove a rapid
expansion in the connectivity
of the world’s economies and
cultures.

GLOBALIZATION ?
The development of transport and
communication has led to
globalization.
These means of transport and
communication are often called the
lifelines of a nation because they
are the backbone of the economy
and a hallmark of development.

They help in the expansion of trade


and boost the economy.
The way transportation works as a
lifeline of economy.

Transportation plays a major role in


the lifelines of National economy.
They also ensure that the finished
products are transported to the
consumers.
Production of goods and services
determine the pace of a country’s
development.
Therefore , efficient means of
transport are pre-requisites for
fast development.
Impact of roadways and railways sectors
on the national economy.

Provided significant stimulus to the coal-


mining , iron production , engineering and
construction industries.

The railways also helped to reduce transaction


costs , which in turn lowered the cost of goods.

The challenges faced by these sectors.

Road network and national highways are


inadequate.
The volume of traffic and passengers is very
large.
