OBJECTIVES:

1. To assess the effect of PCOS on psychological and physiological


well being of medical and nursing students with PCOS as compared to
those without PCOS.

2. To find out the prevalence of PCOS among medical and nursing


students.
RATIONALE:
● Polycystic ovarian Syndrome(PCOS) is a common endocrinological disorder
affecting women's reproductive health.
● According to a multiple studies conducted on the medical students throughout
India, the prevalence of PCOS is around 9.13%-27.5% among the medical
students[1][2][3][4]In the general population, prevalence of PCOS is around 6.8%-
11.33%[5][6].
● Quite less studies have been conducted on the impact of PCOS on the quality of
life of medical and nursing students.
