• Mungo Man and Mungo Lady are significant archaeological discoveries from
Lake Mungo in New South Wales, Australia. Mungo Lady, discovered in 1968,
is one of the oldest known cremations, dating back around 40,000 years,
providing insights into early human rituals.

• Mungo Man, found in 1974, is the oldest human remains found in Australia,
offering valuable information about the continent's ancient inhabitants and
their way of life. Their discovery showed that Aboriginal and Torres Straight
Islanders had been in Australia far longer than previously believed.
