Problem Statement
Natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, wildfires, have devastating impacts
on human life, property, and infrastructure. Despite advances in technology, the ability to
predict, prepare for, and respond to such disasters remains a significant challenge. In many
cases, inadequate early warning systems, poor communication during crises, and inefficient
resource allocation lead to preventable loss of life and prolonged recovery periods.
There is a critical need for a comprehensive Natural Disaster Management System that can
effectively monitor, predict, and manage natural disasters, while improving coordination
between various stakeholders, including government agencies, emergency responders, and
affected populations.
Introduction
Objective
Develop a mobile app for community engagement in water issue identification and resolution.
Utilize smartphones for easy reporting of problems like pollution, leaks, scarcity, and
infrastructure issues.
Open Data Principles
Emphasize open data, ensuring transparency and collaboration.
Shared information fosters accountability among stakeholders.
Core Functionality - Map Interface
Dynamic visualization tool displaying water problems spatially.
Users can see reported issues directly on the map, enhancing understanding.
Potential features: color-coded markers for severity, customizable filters for specific criteria.
