From module 4 about the different typologies of
communities. Identify the following:
 How is your community?
 What type of community is it?
 How will you describe your own community?
 What are the prominent community sectors present by
identify the different community sectors you can find in
your own community?
 Express your thoughts by making a community map.

 Privacy concerns: Be mindful of privacy issues when
collecting and displaying data about individuals.
 Data accuracy: Double-check the accuracy of the data you
are using to create the map.
Key steps to create a community map:
 Define your focus area:
Determine the geographic boundaries of your community, whether it's a neighborhood,
town, or larger region.
 Gather data:
o Identify key locations: List important community features like schools, hospitals,
parks, grocery stores, public transportation stops, places of worship, community
centers, etc.
o Collect data on demographics: Depending on your goals, you might need to
gather data on population density, income levels, age groups, or other relevant
demographics.
o Conduct survey: Consider walking through the community, taking notes, and
collecting information from local residents to get a more comprehensive
understanding.

 Choose a mapping platform:
o Option: Physical maps, drawing your own map on a bond paper.
 Input data onto the map:
o Place markers: Use markers to pinpoint the location of each important location
on your map.
o Add labels: Clearly label each marker with the name of the location.

visually highlight important distinctions.
