Bearings and scale drawings

MATH TERM 1
Concept
 Each point represents four directions.
 North (up)
 South (down)
 East (right)
 West (left)

 Bearings are nothing but measurements of angles with certain rules.


 The angle is always measured from the north.
 It is measured in clockwise direction.

 There are four quadrants.


 Quadrant 1: 0-90
 Quadrant 2: 90-180
 Quadrant 3: 180-270
 Quadrant 4: 270-360
Example
TO THE CONCEPT
Q) A ship is travelling from port O for 100 km at a bearing of 60 degrees.
Q) A ship is travelling from port O for 100 km at a bearing of 60 degrees.
