BRUNELLESCHI
Florence, 1377.
Filippo Brunelleschi was the first architect of the
Renaissance period. It is known for having
changed the Gothic style and readopt the
classicism. He was also a scupultor and Goldsmith,
but his talent shone at the Dome of Santa Maria,
Florence.
Dome Of Santa Maria del Fiore
Inaugurated in 1436.A masterpiece made by Filippo
Brunelleschi. It is an astonishing work that remarks the start of
the Italian renaissance and finished Gothic style. It symbolizes
the wealth of Florence in XIII and XIV centuries. It is 114.5
meters height and 45.5 meters of diameter.
LEON BATTISTA
ALBERTI
Genova, 1404.
Leon Battista Alberti was an architect, poet,
humanist and italian mathemathic. He was
quite multifaceted. In his Works, he tried to
mix ancient and modern styles and create a
masterpiece out of them. He thought artists
should be intelectual, not only craftsmen. He
also colaborated with learned burgeoise.

Started in 1456 until 1470.
Located in Florence. It has
classic style elements like
the columns or the arches.
Also, bichrome appears in
this building. It is built with
green and white marble. It
has a geometric
decoration. Made
by:Alberti.
MICHELOZZO

Florence, 1396.
Michelozzo was a famous architect and sculptor
who had been Ghiberti´s apprentice when he
was younger. During his career, he highlighted
for working with marble, gold and silver. He
collaborated with Donatello and extended his
relationship with Cosme de Medici.

Vicchio, 1395
He was a painter of Quattrocento
who also was a religious man. He
also mixed gothic style and modern
Renaissance style of perspective as
other important artists.
MASACCIO
San Giovanni, 1401

Tommaso di ser Giovanni di Mone Cassai, best known


as Masaccio, was a famous painter who lived in
Quattrocento. Although his life was quite short, he
was decisive in his work. He is considered to have
been the first painter to use full perspective perfectly
in ``Trinity´´.

FRANCESCA

Tíber, 1415.
Piero was a painter who was
a specialist in frescos. He
also worked with geometry.
In addition, he became a
master in perspective and in
the use of light. He was an
important figure in
Renaissance, but he didn’t
work with Medici family.

BOTTICELLI
Florenece, 1445
Sandro Botticeli was perhaps the most notable painter of
Quattrocento. He was very talented specially using contrast of
light and perspective. Soon Medici family saw his talent and
took him to work with them, creating lots of paintings for
Lorenzo de Medici.
BIRTH OF VENUS
It started in 1482 until -85
A painting done by Sandro Botticelli. It
represents the come of Venus to Cyprus. It
starts using the characteristics of
Renaissance but doesn’t use proportion
and perspective exactly.

Donatello was a sculptor
who was very innovative
with his works, and marked
Quattrocento in scupulture.
David
Done around 1440.
This work was done by Donatello, who
chose David before it fought with Goliath
in an ancient story. Its 158cm of height. It's
made of Bronze. Nowadays, it can be
found in Bargello, Florence.
LORENZO
GHIBERTI

Florence,1455
Lorenzo Ghiberti was a
sculptor, architect and
writer in Quattrocento.
He became famous for his
work, Reliefs on Gates of
Baptistery, also known as
Gates of heaven.
Reliefs on Gates
of Baptistery
Done between 1425-1452.
Ghiberti is the creator of this work and
remembered scenes of the old testament in
this astonishing masterpiece. He mastered
all the characteristics of the 15th century
and represented them in this work.

Fermignano, 1443
Bramante was an architect and
painter in the Italian Cinquecento.
He highlighted for using masterfully
severity and a central point. Also
perspective was a strong point in his
works.

Caprese, 1475
Michelangelo Buonarroti, was
an Italian architect, painter and
sculptor, considered an
absolute genius. He had a good
relationship with Medici family.
He started with architecture
quite late, after the other arts.
He used Quattrocento´s style
with a new dimension.

PALLADIO

Padua ,1508
Palladio was an architect
who worked in the
Cinquecento. He specially
worked in Venice. He is
considered to be the
architect who best knew
how to update
Quattrocento’s style.

DA VINCI
Anchiano,1452
Da Vinci was probably the most
multifaceted person of the
world. He worked as a painter,
scientific, sculptor, architect… a
complete master.
Mona Lisa
Painted between 1503-1519.

Mona Lisa, also known as The Gioconda, was an


incredible painting painted by Leonardo Da Vinci.
It represents the sfumato, a technique used by
him, because the color is darker. Not only the
beauty made it famous, also the robbery in 1911
made it extremely popular. Mysteries about the
painting are still without being discovered.
The Last Supper
Painted between 1495 and 1498.

The last supper, is a mural painting


painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. It
represents the last dinner of Jesus with
his Apostolos before being

location nowadays. (Milan)

SANZIO
Urbino,1483.
Sanzio was a painter and architect
who also supported a little bit in
architecture. He was a kid with an
amazing talent but lost his dad and
grew in workshops of art. He died
young, but is said to be one of the
best paintors of the period.

Painted between 1509 and


1511.
The school of Athens is a
painting done by Sanzio. Its
technique its fresco, and inside
it we can see all the
philosophers and important
mathematics of the history
under the same roof.
MICHELANGELO
Caprese, 1475
Michelangelo Buonarroti, was an
Italian architect, painter and
sculptor, considered an absolute
genius. He had a good relationship
with Medici family. Painting wasn’t
his favorite art, but despite his
ignorance he left his legacy with
masterpieces like The Last
Judgment.
The creation
of Adam
Done in 1511

Its autor, Michelangelo painted in on


the cielings of the Sistine Capelle. It
ilustrates one of the nine episodes of
the Genises, The Bible, when God
gives life to Adam.

Done between 1535-1541

Michelangelo painted it on the


cielings of the Sistine Capille, and it
represents Jesus choosing the
future of many creatures.
TINTORETTO
Venice, 1518
Tintoretto was an excellent painter
in the Cinquecento. He was a great
scholar in the Venetian school and
creator of the mannerist style.
GIORGINE
Castelfranco Veneto, 1477
Giorgine was a painter of the High
Renaissance. He was, as Tintoretto,
a representant of the school of
Venice. Unluckily, he died very
young, so his career was
interrupted.
TITIAN

Pieve de Cadore, 1490.

Titian, as Giorgine and Tintoretto,


was one of the greatest exponents of
the Venetian school. He did portraits,
landscapes, mythological themes,
religious themes, quiet multifaceted.

MICHELANGELO

Caprese, 1475
Michelangelo Buonarroti, was an
Italian architect, painter and
sculptor, considered an absolute
genius. He had a good relationship
with Medici family. He generally is
considered Sculptor. His works of art
demonstrate perfection, proportion,
human body… He said he only took
off the parts to leave a masterpiece
like David.
DAVID

Done between 1501-1504

Michelangeelo, the greatest


genius of the Renaissance,
demonstrated his talent in
probably the most famous work
of art of his career. Nowadays is
located in Florence.
Moses
Done between 1513-1515

A giantic work of Michelangelo


who was focused on the Bible,
Moses. Nowadys is in Vincoli.
Moses, the man who gave
freedom to god’s village.
Rondanini Pieta
Done between 1552-1564

Michelangelo changed completely his


classic style and innovated to an outer
dimensional one. He finished it 6 days
before dying.
