HISTORY
This discipline comes from the Greek word
“historia” which means to investigate or
inquire. This etymology gives an idea on how
the past is to be studied.
ECONOMICS
This discipline comes from the Greek word
“oikonomos” which means household
management, a concept associated with the
individual and family.
SOCIOLOGY
This discipline comes from the Latin word “socius”
which means “partners” and Greek word “logos”
which mean “to study.” This field revolves around
the study of social groups in the society.
ANTHROPOLOGY
This discipline comes from the Greek word
“anthropos" which means “man” and Latin word
“logos” which mean to study. This field deals
with the study of the origin of man or humanity.
PSYCHOLOGY
This discipline deals with the human
behavior.
GEOGRAPHY
This discipline derived from the Greek word “geos”
which means Earth and “graphien” which means to
write. It is related to political science because it
deals with the location, territory, and resources.
LAW
This discipline play an important role in society.
People exercise their political authority through the
government. The application of political science was,
for some time, limited to or particularly focused on
law and law making.

time-tested values, practices, and institutions,
“reflects the accumulated wisdom of the past.”
ANARCHISM
It is an ideology that is based on the belief that
the government and laws are not necessary. This
ideology prefers a stateless society in which free
individuals take charge of their own affairs
through voluntary agreement and cooperation.
SOCIALISM
It is an ideology that stands in opposition to
capitalism and proposes an alternative which is
more humane and equitable, it gave voices to the
artisans and craftsmen.
COMMUNISM
It is an ideology that is described as a
socioeconomic structure which aims to establish
a society that is stateless, classless, and
egalitarian.
MARXISM
This ideology means that economic life and the
conditions under which people produce and
reproduce their means of subsistence are crucial.
FACISM
It is an ideology which adheres to the maxim of
strength through unity and desires an
organically unified national community.
FEMINISM
It has the following underlying themes: society is
characterized by sexual, or gender inequality
and the structure of male power can and should
overturned.
FUNDAMENTALISM
This ideology believes in the idea of going
back to basics.
