ROOFS
Learning Outcome
SECTION 3A-5h: BUILDING DRAWING
• appreciate various Roof types that can be utilized in designing
• prepare working drawings of roof anchorage systems utilizing hurricane
clips/straps, J bolts... (To be done in a separate presentation)
• prepare working drawings of roofs showing truss details (simple
contemporary timber trusses) (To be done at a separate presentation)
• preparing working drawings showing open and closed eaves; eave details. (To
be done at a separate presentation)
Previous knowledge
• Floor Plan & related building materials
Set Induction
• Roofs protects from the environment
• Strengthens the building structure
• Aesthetic
• Many types, but only reviewing a few for CSEC TD syllabus
Evaluation
You will be required to design a roof for the floor plan that you
worked on earlier.
