FUNCTIONS

A relation is said to be a function when an input corresponds to

only one value of an output. In other words, a FUNCTION is a
relation in which no two ordered pairs have the same x-
coordinate or first component.

This means that every value of x must be associated to a

unique value of y. Thus, one-to-one and many-to-one relations
are considered functions.
