Believing in yourself is the first secret to success
- Sonia Parvin
The first thing which made me who I am..
“Be Yourself” It really doesn’t bother what
others say, I just do what needs to be
done. Being judged by others never
concerned me and that’s what made me
who I’m today.
Believe in one superpower. Being
a Muslim girl, Studying in a
convent school and then
marrying a Hindu boy helped me
to established a thought “Religion
only divides people” We all are
same, just that our way of
remembering the superpower is
different. And I respect everyone.
This is my holy place in home.
Motivating others - I like to motivate people
in all possible ways for what they do. I
make sure to spread positive energy to the
people around me.
“Be there” I make sure to be there for people
who would love to talk their hearts out, or if
someone is going through a rough phase.
It’s hard to be with someone who’s not in a
good shape and I try my best to support
them at that time, and tell them “It’s okay not
to be okay all the time”.
Being an honest and loyal person I
believe these are very important traits
and it makes a person who they are. The
foundation stone for a balanced success
is Honesty, Loyalty and Integrity.
The person I admire most is my teacher
Nita Mam. She taught me life lessons, and
told me “Sadness helps us to adapt the
reality of life, and after every sunset there's
always a sunrise wait for it”
And the next person who helped me to be
a better human being, an independent
woman, is my friend come husband
Gourab. When I lost my mother in my
teenage years, at that time he performed
all the roles in my life, a brother, father,
mother and taught me things for which I’m
proud of myself.
A pet lover from heart, who wants to own
all the pets and make her home a zoo may
be. Just joking, I wish I could give shelter
to all the strays, but it’s not possible so I
give all the love to them that I have in me.
And then the best decision of our life is
bringing Oreo home. He keeps us going in
all the phases of life. He’s my everything
and without him I can’t imagine my life,
he’s the one for me :)
Meeting new people - I try to get
to know people in their own way
and it helps me to understand
more about human behavior.
And knowing a person is one of
the wonderful journeys I would
like to have throughout my life.
Being a traveler helps me to explore to
know people. Travelling is an oxygen for
me, I need to go somewhere every two
months to feel nature in its way. And I’m a
traveler, not a tourist, who creates
memories.
Trying new things - I try my hands in all
possible things which excites me, starting
from learning flute to cooking something
new and which sometimes turn out to be a
disaster.
Travel Blogger - I started this two years
back and found it very interesting to talk
about my experience and share those
with people. It feels so good when they
travel through my eyes. Maybe someday
I will have my own blog page, just a plan
though..
Painting - Throughout my entire life I tried
to find something in me which is entirely
mine, and 7 years ago I found that.
Painting is my passion, my stress buster,
my meditation. Without painting I’m just as
boring as a white canvas.
AAIC - Yes it’s not my first job but it’s the
best one in my last 8 years of career. In this
6 months of span I have learned and gained
so much knowledge which I have never
imagined. It helps me to boost up my
confidence level. And a special thanks to
Vijay Sir, who made sure I get the chance to
learn new things every time I communicate
with him. Thank you for being there.
All good habits actually didn’t make me who
I am today. I’m a slow learner and I take
time to understand information. To overcome
this I started taking notes for everything and
recording calls whenever possible. Listening
to those again and again to make sure I’m
not missing out anything, it helped me to be
a better person than my previous self.
There are a few more habits, and not
understanding roads one of it. I lost my way
home so many times that my friends called
me by the name “geographically
challenged”. Unfortunately that also made
me who I am and whenever I'm in a new
place I make sure I’m handy with Google
Maps and I’m extra cautious about every
small thing so that I don’t get lost again or
chased by any random dogs (yaya yaya I'm
a pet lover but though..)
Leading a healthy life - 2 years back I broke
my ankle in such a way I couldn't walk for an
entire year and I used crutches to walk. At
that time I was around 87 kgs. I was under
the impression that I won’t be able to walk
again if I don't shed some kilos. Then one
day I decided I have to do something. I
started working out at home with a healthy
diet. And lose 17kgs in a year. Being
healthy and fit was the best thing happened
with me
And then this year I trekked 14 kms in 7
hour and did my first Khaliya top summit at
12000 ft. I never imagined I could do this,
where two years back I was walking using
crutches. So if there’s a will there’s a way
and it proved so true for me.
My life taught me...
“Life is a wonderful journey and it’s
up to you how you want to make it”
