What is fashion and what
is style?
o Fashion comes from french word „mode“ which
originated from latin „modus“- measure,
appearance, method, rule
o a current and constantly changing trend
o popular aesthetic expression at a particular time
and place and in a specific context, especially
in clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessorie,make-
up, hairstyle, and body proportions
o Style is the way an individuals expresses
themselves through aesthetic choices

fashion and style
o Style is timeless, while fashion is timely
o Personal style is something that belongs to an
individual—a means of self-expression;
fashion, on the other hand, has to do with
global trends and the business of fashion
