Sutherland High School

Themed dress up fun day

What is the themed dress up day all about?

The themed dress up day will be an opportunity for learners to dress up as their favourite teacher or
any famous person and present their best impersonation of that person. Prior to the day, each learner
in his/her class will have to sign a registration indicating they will be participating, and who they will be
impersonating. This will give the teachers time to do research on the impersonated individuals in their
class. This event is not to raise any funds, but to bring out the fun side of each student in our school.
This event will be a memorable one that will forever be remembered by students.
Each learner will dress up and will be judged by teachers. The learner with the best interpretation in
each grade and house will receive a tuck shop voucher.
 Goal: to introduce something new and fun to the inter-house calendar that is not driven by any
monetary objective. Often kids don’t fancy the idea of payment, and immediately get discouraged
once they hear they have to pay.
 Team members include: Mulisa, Joah and Nolo

 Who is our target market?

The students: we’d like for all students to participate and most importantly have fun
sharing their creative side.
 Risk planning?

To ensure that there will be participation from the learners, a register will be presented
to each class, whereby each learner will have to sign and confirm they will be
participating in the challenge to win a reward.
In the event that there is a lack of participation, 3 days prior things will change. Despite
the learners being the target market, we’d like for teachers to then take the role and have
students judge. This will strive to encourage learners to participate the following year.

 What makes this day different?

This day will simply encourage fun. Forget paying any fee, each learner will only have the duty of bringing
themselves and ensuring they are appropriately dressed for the individual they will be impersonating.
 Resources?

We want to minimise any expenditure. Hence, teachers will be used as judges. No upfront free. Request for
break to be extended and for the tuckshop to be open longer.
 Budget?

Only thing that will have to be budgeted for, are the tuckshop vouchers. For this, we will encourage
donations from our school sponsors.
8 classes (1 winner from each class ) x 4 grades: R100 voucher. R800 x 4. R3200.

 Prizes to be won?

Best impersonation will win a R100 tuck-shop voucher. Second place will be getting a mystery
goody bag with relevant accessories.
 Additional fun?

1) Photo-booth: learners will be able to pre order photo-booth tickets at R10 for 3 printed
images.
2) Quiz: there will also be quizzes about famous celebrities and teachers that will be hosted
within each class.
 Logistics?

All this will be financed by our school sponsors. We will be renting a Photo Booth station for the
day. Each team member was each assigned different duties which include organising the judges,
as well as setting up the stage for the impersonation.

 Technology used?

To make our project easier we used ‘Click Up ‘. This software allowed for us to easily assign tasks
for specific team members, write down our goal for each task, as well as track progress. This
made things easier as we didn’t have to meet up everyday in person to get work done.
 Finally a date:

This event will be on the 13th of September 2024. This date was chosen as it marks the end of
the term 3 cycle tests and will be a great opportunity for learners to unwind and relax before the
end of year exams.
