covering personal history.
• • Risk assessment tool used to evaluate
potential violence risk.
Psychiatric Evaluation
• • Psychiatrist evaluates inmate based on
psychological and social case study.
• • Determines psychiatric illness and mental
state.
• • Criteria for evaluation includes court orders,
history of psychiatric issues, or behavioral
abnormalities.
Inmate Classification and Case
Management
• • Case manager consolidates assessments to
classify inmates.
• • Inmates receive orientation and counseling
for jail rules and personal development.
Disciplinary Board Composition
• • Chairperson: Assistant Warden
• • Members: Chief Custodial Officer, Medical
Officer, Jail Chaplain, IWD Officer, Inmate
Representative
Authorized Disciplinary Measures
• For Detainees and Prisoners:
• • Verbal warning, compensation, or
suspension of privileges.
• • Confinement in cell for max 7 days/month
for incorrigible behavior.
Limitations on Disciplinary Actions
• • No punishment harming unborn or nursing
child.
• • No adverse punishment for infirm inmates.
• • Prohibition on corporal punishment or dark
confinement.
• • Instruments of restraint used only as a
precaution.
Disciplinary Case Procedures
