ASPECTS OF

VERBS
-express
actions that
happened at an
indefinite time.
[Link] PAST PERFECT TENSE-
shows an action in the past
before another action
happened. It is formed by
using had + past participle
form of the verb.

Example: We had just finished


the grammar lesson when the
villagers came.
2. The PRESENT PERFRECT-shows
an action that was completed
sometime in the past or is still
continuing in the present. It is
formed by using has/have + the
past participle form of the verb.

Example: He has expected worst


things since that war began.
3. The FUTURE PERFECT-shows
an action that will still be
competed sometime in the
future. It is formed by using
will/shall + have + past participle
form of the verb.

Ex: The villagers will have


protected the school from
outsiders when necessary.
To show the progressive
aspect of the verb, add
been (be) to the –ing of the
verb.

Ex:She has been running


around to tell the news.
